Any refund request meeting one of the exceptions needs to be submitted through the TeachersPayTeachers.com website.

Teaching Questions

  • Yes! Lessons include a short quick or writing assessment to assess mastery. Most units include an end-of-unit assessment, however some include research projects depending on the content area.

  • The units are not editable. In order to protect my work, and the work of the font and graphic artists we use, I sell the units as noneditable PDFs and slides.

There are occassional editable components in certain units, such as parent letters.

  • Yes! All of my units are designed to be taught in person.

  • My units are designed for 2nd-5th grade students, although I have received positive reviews for lower and higher grades.

Depending on your class, you may be able to modify it for a lower or higher grade. The texts are written at a third-grade reading level. Younger students may need assistance with reading the passages and completing the activities. Please read the unit descriptions and reviews before purchasing.

  • Currently, there are no federally-mandated social studies standards. When designing units we read aggregate dozens of states’ standards in order to identify common themes. Then, we create lessons to fit those themes.

Many of our units include Standard Guides, which include Texas, Georgia, and the National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies.

I recommend double-checking your state standards with my unit descriptions to see if they are a good fit.

Opening & Printing Files

  • Because my units contain multiple files, I compress them into a ZIP file.

A zip file is a compressed folder that contains multiple files. ZIP files need to be unzipped in order to access the files inside.

Windows and Mac computers are able to unzip ZIP files without additional software. iPhones and iPads require an additional app.

If you need help opening the zip file, you can read step-by-step instructions here.

If you are having trouble opening a PDF, please make sure you’re opening the PDF with the most updated version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  • First, figure out what type of file you are having trouble printing. If it is a zip file, you will need to unzip the file first. See above for more information.

If you are having trouble printing a PDF, please make sure you’re opening the PDF with the most updated version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you open up the PDF files in any other program (like Preview) it may not print correctly.

It may also not print correctly if you are trying to print from an online viewer in your browser (like Safari or Google Chrome). Try saving the file to your desktop and then printing from Adobe Acrobat Reader.
